A DAY AT JADE DRIVE
1. Arrival
A great day begins with a good morning! As the gates open, we gear up to welcome our little ones. The early birds have the freedom to use any material in the classroom, read any book they desire, or perhaps talk about the fabulous weekend they had with their family.
2. Individual Work Time
Individual Work Time is fundamental to the Montessori approach, which recognises and respects individual variations in the learning process. It ensures that each child has the time to settle into a task that interests them and is not unnecessarily interrupted when engaged in a worthwhile activity. Students are free to choose different Montessori materials that interest them during individual work time and work with them as previously demonstrated by the teachers. Click here to read more about the Montessori material.
3. Playtime
Playtime is a crucial part of our little one's emotional, social, and physical development. Here at Jade Drive, our children learn how to socialise, share, and take turns. Playtime also stimulates the imagination and encourage creativity. During playtime, children get to enjoy the different play areas open to them. They may have a go at the slides, drive the cosy coupes, play in our playhouses, stimulate their senses at the sandpit, shoot some hoops or go flower picking in our garden. The choice is theirs!
4. Arts & Crafts
Art is one of the many ways children express themselves and is a way for children to communicate their feelings. At Jade Drive, our students get opportunities to engage in fun arts and craft activities every week. These activities promote self-expression, prompt innovation & creativity, boosts self-esteem, teaches flexibility and much more.
5. Snack Time
It's snack time! Our little ones will first wash their hands and then grab a seat next to their friends. Once everyone is seated, we all recite a snack time "poem” and then dig in.
6. Circle Time
Our favourite activity at Jade Drive is... Circle Time! Here, the little ones gather around in a circle, and the teachers indulge them in fun conversations, stories, and songs. During this time, students get the opportunity to speak out and express themselves, sing, laugh and do lots of finger and body movements too!
7. Special Days and Events
Many exciting special days and events are scattered throughout our school year. Be it events corresponding to national & international celebrations, events related to themes of the week or our around the world initiative. These events not only add colour to our little one’s experience here at Jade Drive but also helps strengthen their sense of community and help them learn more about the local culture and the world.

8. Home Time (Stage 1)
Sadly it's time to say goodbye to our Stage 1 kids. However, the excitement with which our little ones share their day with their parents is a sight to witness!
9. Individual Work Time
This time may include individual or self-chosen small group activities and short lessons led by the teacher for children who have accepted an invitation to the lesson. The lessons may range from teachers introducing new Montessori material to group activities such as arts and crafts, pre-writing, learning phonics, introduction to early math or trying out cool science experiments.
10. Home Time (Stage 2 and 3)
Now it's time to say goodbye to our Stage 2 and 3 kids! Lots of goodbye waves and hugs are exchanged during this time. It may look bittersweet, but our little ones get to see us again the next day!
