Jade Drive provides a fully integrated curriculum combining an authentic Montessori approach with the full complement of Montessori materials and several significant enrichment areas.

We offer a range of enrichment programs to ensure that your child is given the best opportunities for a well-rounded education. Additionally, our enrichment programs are carefully chosen and balanced to maintain our authentic Montessori environment that provides uninterrupted work cycles.

These programs are conducted during school hours and give your children a chance to explore and discover their own interests and abilities.  In doing so, they develop confidence in their ability to think independently. Similarly, these programs also offer children opportunities to enhance their curiosity, creativity and their social, language and gross motor skills.

Elocution Classes

Elocution is the skill of communicating clearly and expressing one’s thoughts concisely and pleasingly. We believe it is a vital trait that every kid should master. Our students will have a remarkable opportunity to learn elocution from a teacher & examiner of a leading Speech and Drama Academy, who has over 21 years of teaching experience.

Our program will focus on improving our student's fluency in spoken English, grammar and their style of speaking. Moreover, at the appropriate age, our students will have the opportunity to attend internationally recognised speech and drama exams.

Mini Manners

Our "Mini Manners", or "Grace and Courtesy" program, is an important aspect of the Montessori curriculum. Grace is the way a person holds themselves physically (a relationship between mind and body). Courtesy is how we handle ourselves and the energy we put forward for the benefit of others.

We teach grace and courtesy by modelling empathy and good manners. With practice, your little ones will learn to become more empathetic to others and be confident in handling themselves in various social situations.

Your child will be introduced to a plethora of fun, enriching and interactive lessons such as introductions & greetings, respect for others, table etiquettes, manners in public places, phone manners, and much more.

Arts & Crafts

Montessori art has a higher purpose: to support the child’s creative development. Your little ones can take as much time as they need, incorporate skills from previous lessons, collaborate with others, and take risks. They’ll develop concentration through repetition, and also, refine their motor skills. Importantly, their artwork will never be graded, compared, or critiqued by the adults in the classroom.

Art is one of the many ways children express themselves and is a way for children to communicate their feelings. It is through art that children develop their fine motor skills. In the Montessori environment, we provide open-ended art activities that help children explore and use their creativity.

The art activities are integrated into our regular Montessori schedule. The children will learn art skills such as painting, cutting, drawing, modelling with clay etc., while exploring different textures and materials.

Physical Education

Movement is a vital component in cognitive, social, and physical development and is inherent in the Montessori environment. To aid in physical education, we at Jade Drive have meticulously converted an area of 5,400 square feet to promote active play, exploration, and a love for nature.

Under the supervision of our teachers, the children participate in daily structured games or have plain old-fashioned fun running, digging in the sandbox or climbing the equipment, swooping down the slide from the ‘eagle’s nest’, or socialising in the playhouse.

We aim to create physical education lessons that are easy to learn, teach fundamental movement patterns and skills, and reinforce Montessori concepts learned in the classroom.

STEM-Inspired Activities

STEM (stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) are core subjects that will give your child the skills for future success in fields like engineering, robotics, computers and natural sciences. It adopts a multi-disciplinary approach towards understanding the world and solving problems.

Here at Jade Drive, we believe in hands-on activities that inspire curiosity and creativity. Your child will be given the opportunities to apply what he has learned to solve real-life problems with hands-on and minds-on lessons, marrying Math and Science into something engaging and fun.

Examples of our activities include making fizzy rainbows (science), learning what materials make the best insulators (technology), creating music from water (engineering), magnetic counting strips (mathematics) and many more!

Gardening

Gardening is a wonderful way for children to connect with nature and nurture living things. It provides learning opportunities such as studying parts of seeds, flowers and plants. Children love to dig in the dirt and get great exercise while doing so.

We are fortunate to have classroom gardens where our children can be part of the growing process. They have ownership of the gardens as well as the food and flowers produced in them. Your child will have the beautiful opportunity of planting seeds and watching them sprout in our well-maintained garden.

At Jade Drive, several direct goals of gardening with children include nurturing independence, inspiring awe and wonder in the natural environment, meeting several cognitive objectives such as an enriched vocabulary, and gaining knowledge to a sense of where plants fit into the greater world.
